Harvey Dykes stepped off the scales at the weigh-in for the big fight card at The Brighton Centre on Friday and promised his supporters a night to remember.
"I am so grateful for everyone that has got behind me for this fight," said heavyweight Dykes, who came in at just over 276lb. "I am going to put on a show for them. It should be a great night, the main event looks as though it is going to be exciting as well."
Dykes, who takes on the durable Belarusian Viktar Chvarkou, is hopeful that he will also get to showcase his talent to a wider audience. "Hopefully it is going to be shown on Channel 5 - then I can show the people at home what I am all about."
Dykes is a former national amateur champion. He is undefeated as a professional and closing in on his first professional title - the Southern Area. Friday will see him fight for the third time at The Brighton Centre on a Harlem Eubank undercard.
